Really, I’m Not Obsessed With Dogs

Well, first and update. Simon has taken to sleeping on his pet bed instead of trying to have sexytime with it. So, that’s good. In fact he’s really become attached to it and I found him sleeping… well not, sitting on it staring at me grumpily when I got home last night from delivering cookies to our friends.

I didn’t think much of his angry stare and thought he was just being weird, but I was too happy that he was using the pillow and I hadn’t wasted my money to think about why he was in grumpy old man mode. Well, I soon found out when I went upstairs… and found a Chocolate Lab puppy.

Now, I know what you’re thinking… “OMG! They already have 2 dogs and a 3 cats and an angry bird!” It’s not our puppy! It’s my sister’s Christmas present. See, my sister’s dog had a tragic accident on Saturday or Sunday and long story short, it was severely injured and had to be put to sleep. (sad face) It’s very unfortunate, and I feel bad. So, my mom decided to get her a puppy for Christmas/her birthday (even though her Birthday is in July, and she’ll probably still get her gifts just like she already bought her a couch for Christmas, but still bought her gifts, and then decided to get her a puppy….but whatever.)

So, yes, we have a cute little Chocolate Lab puppy running around the house, and Simon is sitting on his pillow wearing his cranky pants and if he could talk he’d probably be yelling, “YOU KIDS STAY OFF MY LAWN!” But that’s not a surprise, he’s gotten very grumpy in his old age and as they say “Doesn’t suffer fools gladly.” So, this is the type of behavior that I expected. What I didn’t expect is for Sam to be SO NASTY to the puppy!

Sam, well he’s dumb as a rock… and that’s an insult to the rocks. But he’s never had problems with other animals, and he’s always been friendly! Well, not to Miss Puppy! No-No! He is not a fan! There is snarling and growling whenever the puppy gets near him. This worries me, because Simon is no spring chicken, and someday we’d like to get a puppy when he’s no longer with us (which will be a sad, sad day), but we can’t have good natured Sammy going all Cujo on us!

Anyhow, I promise the next post will have nothing to do with dogs!

It's A Pillow, Not A Sex Toy!

We made a little impulse purchase last night and got our dog Simon a pet bed. He likes to sleep on our couch, and we don't like when he sleeps on our couch (he sheds so much you'd expect him to be bald!), so we though we'll get him one of those nice big pillows for him to sleep on and then he'll have his own little place that isn't our couch! Plus he's old and cranky, so we thought it'd be nice to have something fluffy and soft to sleep on.

Good plan, right?

Well, he seemed pretty excited about his new bet, and rubbed his head all over it and licked it and thought it was the bee knees.... until he started thinking about the birds and the bees, and proceeded to hump the pillow.

Actually he just tried to hump the pillow, not much success with his pillow/sex toy. Then, did he sleep on it?? NO! He slept next to it... like a little pillow wife to sleep next to and try and hump. Awww. Sad.

Hopefully we'll get him to sleep ON it eventually... once he figures out it's a pillow... for sleeping on.... not with... giggity, giggity. alllllright.

Marley and Me

Becky and I got passes from work to a special early screening of Marley and Me which comes out on Christmas. It's a movie about the world's worst dog. The movie is based on a book with the same title.

So, the movie is about this newspaper reporter, his wife, and the dog that they got as newly weds. The dog of course is out of control and a real handful. It's not one of those plot driven movies where something is happening that's out of the ordinary, it's really just a story about a family and their dog.

It was a really cute movie! A lot of funny stuff that reminded me of my dog(s). I really enjoyed it, though there were a lot of people crying at the end. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for something to see! But be ready for a sad, but predictable ending. It almost got me, and I'm not a person who cries at movies, and it was really hard to get out of there without crying. So, if you have a chance to see it, it's a nice story and makes you happy, makes you laugh and made me want to go home and pet my dog!

Break for Bacon

For those of you who don't know, a long time ago a friend's mom accidentally called Becky and I Bacon (Becky - Jason Bacon... see how that could happen?) Anyhow, the name stuck, so for almost 10 years now we've been known as Bacon.

I just wanted the title to make sense.

As for the break part? I'm on break from school! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thus ends the worst semester of my life. I HATED THIS SEMESTER! It sucked more than that time when I got shot in the face and while trying to reattach it they accidentally STABBED ME IN THE EYE WITH MY FACE! woah, that was weird.

Anyhow, the semester sucked but now it's over and grades are starting to trickle in. So far, A- and A, so my GPA is still steady, I expect another A and then fucked if I know about the other class that I had to write the 20 page paper for. I'm hoping for an A-, I think it'd be too much to wish for an A, but who knows, perhaps there's a Christmas miracle out there for poor Jason? Pretty please with Santa on top???? As long as it doesn't pull my GPA down, I've got it within 0.05 of where I want it, SOOO CLOSE!

Anyhow! That's why I've been mostly absent since Thanksgiving, I've been chained to a computer, but in a bad way!

In other news, we're supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow... therefore the stores are packed and everyone is buying gas.... stupid. IT'S INCHES NOT FEET! Anyhow, tomorrow morning could be fun!!! I think work should have snow days too...

Hi-o Silver! AWAY!

I was reading my daily Lunch News on CNN when I found and article leading me to this blog! It's really interesting. This guy has 4 horses and a wagon (RV style) that he made and he's just riding across the country at about 20 miles a day. He left New Hampshire in July, and just now got to Indiana! It's really pretty cool. I'll be interested to see how far he makes it. He also takes pictures that he posts in his blogs. It's pretty neat!

And Now I Want A Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnut.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!! So... how was everyone's day? Well, we did the annual tradition of running around to two families for dinner. Becky's first, followed by mine. After dinner which again when unexpectedly smoothly we met up with Scott of the -wiches for some...fun(?) at the local cinema... seeing Twilight... right.

Alright, here's the thing I HATE TWILIGHT! And before I get any "HAVE YOU EVEN READ IT!?!? HOW CAN YOU HATE IT, DON'T YOU LIKE HARRY POTTER?? IT'S JUST LIKE THAT! STEPHANIE (I know she spells her name differently, but that's stupid and one of those things stupid 14 year old girls do to "be different" and that's some bullshit right there, so I'll use the proper spelling) MEYER IS SUCH A GOOD WRITER! ZOMG!!!" Yes, I have read Twilight, and I'm sorry but it's complete rubbish. First, the woman can't write dialogue, second she can't write plot, third she can't write characters.... honestly she should try a different profession. Then, no IT IS NOT LIKE HARRY POTTER, because Potter has a plot, it has well developed characters and finally it's not a book about a whiny little stupid girl who should be stabbed in the face with a bucket. But, that's a rant for a different blog... this is about the movie.

So, the best thing about the movie? A preview of Harry Potter during the Trailers... I didn't fall asleep, so that's good I guess (???) The acting... meh. The plot? Better than the book... I guess. However there seemed to be better character development for the non-lead people, so that was better. The dialogue still blew big donkey balls, and WTF!! Ok, Edward is supposed to drive a Volvo.... so out of Volvo's line of cars.... they gave him a hatch back soccer mom mobile Volvo C30... LAME! It looked like a lame, more expensive Focus hatch back. LAME! Totally not what I pictured. I would at least have gone with the Volvo S40, orBetter a Volvo C70... (P.S. It's a hard top convertible)

Next, DAZZLE?!?! OK WTF! I get it, Stephanie Meyer wants to be "different" so she decided instead of exploding when entering sunlight her vampires *SPARKLE!!!* The movie effect? Well, it looked like Edward got all sweaty and then they rolled him in some granulated sugar... he didn't look sexy, he looked like a doughnut. In fact, I got a sudden craving for a delicious cake doughnut ... covered with cinnamon and sugar..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, doughnut........... Plus TOTAL CREEPER! This is what young girls want? A creeper to stand in your room and watch you sleep?? And who acts kind of shitty toward you?? CREEPER! Though, I guess he does get points for being glazed and covered in sugar.... mmmmmmmmmm, doughnuts..........

Alright, so I don't have a lot of good things to say about the movie, but it is kind of a sucky story. So, some good things about the movie... lovely scenery. Lots of foresty green, leafy goodness, hilly....glory (?).... It was pretty and made me want to visit the area. I really loved their house they lived in, lots of windows (I totally love windows, natural light and beautiful wooded areas etc.) Nice design. Generally I don't go for the modern look, but this worked and I enjoyed it. Uhhh.... that's about it for me I guess. So what... two things? Ok, I'll make it a nice even three (yes, I know 3 isn't even, but I hate even numbers) Alice had a nice hair thing going on. I don't generally like short hair... or messy hair.... but it worked, so... good job... stylists? I'm sorry, it was just a shitty movie! But, hey... it's paying it forward when we go see Star Trek in May, so it's all fair. Plus, I enjoy movies anyway. So, not an evening lost or anything. In addition it was fun to see Becky and Scott laugh at parts that really weren't funny because it was so terrible and/or silly.

Anyhow.... I'm off to bed. Happy Black Friday tomorrow (well today now) good luck with any sales you may be out for! HOORAY!

Lovely Hitler Grapes… Full of Death.

Now maybe I’m backwards in my thinking, perhaps I’m old fashioned, or maybe I’m just a grumpy old man. But it seems to me that the way of the world is:

Food is for eating, plastic is for NOT EATING!

Perhaps you remember this article about nearly 13,000 Chinese kids who got sick because of Chinese milk tainted with Melamine. I remember reading about this and thinking “wow, that’s a load of horseshit!” Well, this article released today, says that trace amounts of this substance has been found in baby formula. That’s right, we’re feeding our kids substances that they really shouldn’t be eating. Ok, as the article points out, the amounts are VERY low. But that’s not the point, this is probably not intentional and possibly could have been from containers etc. The point goes back to the original story. See, this substance was added to milk. And I’m sure you’re all wondering, Why would they need to add this to milk? Well, that’s simple, see, when you add this stuff to watered down milk, you end up with milk that looks like it has more protein in it. So, some asshat, took a substance that can make you sick, and poured it into watered down milk to make it look better than it actually was.

Can we take people like this, shove and umbrella up their asses and open it?

SERIOUSLY!

This is the food supply people! This is what we need to STAY ALIVE! This should not be a “For Profit” enterprise. People do despicable things to make a buck, and when you’re trying to make profits on the things that keep us alive… well, you get fucktards pouring toxic chemicals in our food. You also get inhumane conditions, brutality towards animals, such as this article on the abuse of a sick cow (which has led me to give up beef entirely), or this article on the abuse of pigs. Here’s the simple fact. If you put all your trust into organizations that have the single goal of making money, they will do whatever it takes to make money. Oh sure, people will argue that there are ethics etc. but that isn’t the case. The system itself is set up on a lack of ethics when the only goal is profit. Is it ethical to shove 20 chickens into a cage? Is it ethical to use harmful chemicals in order to appear to have higher levels of protein? I don’t think that’s ethical. If your product is shit, well then perhaps you need a better product. If it costs a company more to let chickens roam, well that’s what chickens are SUPPOSED TO DO! If you can’t treat animals right, maybe we shouldn’t be eating them. But I digress…

The point is this isn’t some shoe, or dvd player, or kitchen appliance. This is life. I know when I’m getting fast food that I’m essentially eating a turd burger (so I don’t eat it), but this kind of shit is popping up EVERYWHERE! It’s like people are forgetting that food isn’t a commodity to make you rich, it’s what you eat to stay alive. You can’t trust anyone who’s only goal is to make a buck, because if they can make a buck selling you a turd sandwich, you’re gonna eat shit, and die.

Why the heck not.

So, I don’t normally do these things, but I’m bored, and though, why the heck not. And since Bobbie listed me as a “victim” I guess I should do it anyway. So I’m supposed to open the nearest book to page 46, and then write down the 5th sentence and then the following two to five. As it happens, I only have one book near me at the moment, so I will be taking mine from a book called “Last of the Red Hot Poppas” I know nothing of this book, it was given to me as a gag because the author is called Jason Berry. See… it’s funny… because that’s my name too. (the book does get bonus points for having a built in bookmark! WOO!) So, apparently, as the dust jacket tells me, the story is about the Governor of Louisiana, who sadly is found dead…. but with lipstick smeared on his thigh….(WTF?!) apparently we get to visit brothels and swamps (which of course is my favorite thing to do on a Saturday night… if only there was a brothel in a swamp…. or a swamp in a brothel….) but then there is some sort of oil broker twist, and toxic muck (which is way more interesting than regular non-toxic muck… that kind of muck sucks…) So, without further ado, page 46:

He offered her a ride. She sank into his Mazda, exhaling Scotch: “I’m divorced.”

“Ah - ”

So there you have it… a book by some guy named Jason Berry… First, he's driving a Mazda... so I'm going to assume it's a Miata, which is a total midlife crisis mobile. You know, the bald fat guy in the little bitch car, and he's all "Look at me ladies, surely you will want to have sex with me and my cute girly little car..." that's because in this book he's all "hey there drunk lady, need a lift" and she's all "I'm drunk and lost my BMW (aww midlife crisis smack down, she wins with the BMW, but hey, thanks for playing). Anyhow, I think that’s kind of a strange reaction. She’s all “I’m divorced” (and apparently drunk) and he’s like “ah” Ah?? Is she a doctor and is checking his tonsils? And a few sentences later she’s all up ons. And then something about frozen taffy… which makes me think, how many people freeze taffy? Why would that be a relevant use of imagery. I assume that taffy gets brittle when frozen, but it seems to me you could come up with something more clever, or at least funny. Perhaps next time try: it broke like the condom that brought us my unexpected sister.

But hey, what do I know, I’m not a writer.

Can you lend me a Fiver, Judey?

So, there’s been a lot of talk about the “bailout” of the “Big Three”. Though it seems like a loan and a bailout are completely different things, but hey, what do I know.

Here’s the thing. The way I see it, we used to drive land boats…. Big old buggers that were “family cars” and not so good on the gas. Well back in the 70s some oil producers were all,“Hey, fuck you buddy”, and we were like “Now wait a minute, Guy!” And then Japan was like “We present, most honorable fuel efficient car” and everyone was totally like, “SOLD”. Well, flash forward 20 years. Gas is under a dollar a gallon, and along comes the SUV. And everyone was like “MMMMMM MORE POWER!!!! *SPOOGE*, well then some guys were like “Hey, fuck you buddy” and we were like “Now wait a minute, Guy” and Japan was like “We present, most honorable Hybrid”.

Well, that seems to be how it went. Now, gas is back down to the luxurious $1.90 a gallon, and the domestic auto makers are not doing so hot. And people were buying more small cars last month than trucks and SUVs (BTW, first time in many years that a month has shown more car sales than truck/SUV sales). So, it seems that $4 a gallon is totally sad pandas. And everyone was buying fuel efficient. Heck, you can’t swing a dead cat around here without hitting a Prius. And the Japanese automakers have been doing the Hybrid thing for like 8 years now. Ford has A hybrid, and it’s a SUV. I don’t think GM has one, but I could be wrong.

So, now everyone’s talking about if we should “bailout” the automakers. I’m not sure what I think about it, because one, they were worried about those PROFITABLE SUVS, and not planning ahead, but on the other hand it could be really bad to lose that many jobs. A lot of people are saying “let them go bankrupt” but others think that’s a bad idea, and could hurt the economy even more.

So, what to do? Well, I found this article talking about the issues relating to the “bailout”. And it seems to me, if it’s a loan to get them through some tough times, and they start looking ahead and producing cars that people will want when gas goes back up to $4 a gallon, because it’s a finite resource, we’re going to run out eventually, and the price is going to go back up… Well, if they do that, then let’s loan them some money, and attach strings so that we know that they’ll do it.

Well, that is until I read this article. It’s an interview with the CEO of Ford… Now, My family has worked at Ford for years and years, and I don’t want them to go under because it would be financially devastating to people in my family. However, this guy is an example of why they’re in trouble. Here’s the tid-bit that kind of drew my attention.

Interviewer: General Motors has got an electric car coming out. It's not going to come out until 2010, 2011. Does Ford have a fully plug-in hybrid vehicle coming?

Mulally: We are working on that also, but let me just share with you the Ford plan about that. Our No. 1 priority is to improve the internal combustion engine, and that's why the turbocharging, the direct fuel injection, we get a 20 percent improvement in fuel mileage and a 15 percent reduction in CO2, but we get that across all of the engines, across all the vehicles. Then we move to more electrification with the hybrids as you mentioned, and we are very excited that the next step after that will be full electrification. Now we're tied into the grids, and we really have moved to an energy independence solution.

Ok, here’s my problem with this. It’s like focusing on weight distribution on the Titanic while it’s sinking, rather than getting in the lifeboat. It seems to me oil is the old fuel, and other options are the new fuel. The Japanese are working on it, and heck, GM is working on it. But Ford want’s to improve the gas engine?

Now, I have a Ford, and Becky has a GM. I get about 23 miles to a gallon, so if it were to improve 20%, I’d be getting 27MPG. Wow… that’s helpful. Becky’s car gets on average 31 mpg. So, those improvements wouldn’t even meet what other makers are able to do. Much less the 40+ MPG that hybrids are getting.

This just seems to me to be another example of not looking forward. And so they’ll be rolling out Hybrids when Honda, Toyota and GM (if they’re even around) will be rolling out electric. If you’re not going to look ahead, then why are you even bothering. Because what’s going to happen is some guy is gonna be like “Hey, fuck you buddy!” and everyone is going to be like “See ya later, Guy, I’ve seen this shit before!”

Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll still get hit by the train if you don’t move. Seems like Japan is going to take it over if no one else will. Even if gas doesn’t go insane, the growing trend toward conservation, and the environment is just getting stronger. Ya gotta anticipate what the consumer wants next. And I’m afraid Ford isn’t going to do it.

Miss Knock Your Socks Off!

Well, it's Tech Week for Calamity Jane, so that means weekend rehearsal! Good times for all! I mean, we've been doing Saturday rehearsals for a few weeks now, so it's not all that different really. What's different is that Tech is a much longer rehearsal. We started at noon, and at a quarter after 5:00 we were till about 5 scenes from the end, so at least another half an hour!!

Well, unfortunately we couldn't stick around to see the end because we had prior plans. What were those plans? Well we got to spend a lovely dinner with Momwich and Doughwich! It was quite tasty and good! Well after that we decided to go see Pioneer High School's production of Miss Saigon... yes, I will repeat that, a high school is doing Miss Saigon. Apparently, as per the program, this is the world premier of the High School Version of the show. What's different? I think they cut a few songs, but the DID NOT cut the graphic nature of the show, such as the prostitution, the swearing, suicide, etc.

So, what can I say about this show. Clearly this type of endeavor could either go well, or be a complete train wreck... well of course it was absolutely amazing!!! Seriously! If you have $12, GO SEE IT! First, it supports your community, but second, IT ROCKED! Of course there were minor issues here and there, but the leads were so talented, and the music (which is pretty complex compared to your standard high school) was breathtaking! Some highlights of the show were the scene during the fall of Saigon, The American Dream song, and really I hope the kids playing Chris and Kim are planning on going professional, because, WOW.

What a great show! I really wish some of the kids I work with could see it, it's good to know what other people are out there doing and give you an idea about how other groups work. It's helpful, I personally find it very motivating.

7 Days!

Greeting from Crazytown!

Well, I haven't posted in over a week. Why is that, my friends? Well mostly because I've been crazy busy the past week! I mean, I'm usually super busy, what with school and work, but right now I'm CRAZY BUSY! First, I had a first draft of my stupid research paper due on Tuesday... lots of reading... lots of writing. But luckly I've already got about 9 of the 15-20 pages that it needs to have, and I've got a lot of information still to put in. So by the time I get my final product in a few weeks we should be fine! So that's keeping me very busy.

However, the crazy busy comes because I'm working with the Theatre Department at LHS, I think I'm the "associate director" for this play (not sure exactly what title I've been given but it's something like that), the show opens next THURSDAY!

It's really coming along! But, that's because rehearsals are running until 8 or later now. Last night, I didn't get home till 9:00! I'd imagine probably later tonight. The kids are great to work with, they have a lot of talent and it's been a pleasure being CRAAAAZY BUSY so that I could help them out!

So, that being said...

COME SEE THE SHOW!

It's a fun western called Calamity Jane! Dates and times are on the picture below(you should be able to click for a larger image), but it's the 20th, 21st, 22nd at 7:00 and the 23rd at 1:00. Tickets are $8!

Perhaps Next Time, A Broom

Alright, people. I was reading the news when I saw this article about a guy in Georgia. And I'm sorry to all my Georgia friends, but people in Georgia must be stopped from breeding. This rocket scientist was cleaning cobwebs... on the outside of his house. But what happened you ask? Why is this a cause for the cessation of breeding in Georgia? Well, he was doing it with a blowtorch. And caught his house on fire.

Now, I seem to remember a MAJOR drought in Georgia too, so really, is playing with fire the best option? How about you try a broom, or some Swiffers, or heck, a stick with a sock on the end of it. But STEP AWAY FROM THE BLOWTORCH!

Anyhow, that amused me.

The Grand Finale!

Well, last night was something else! Obviously, I'm so very pleased with the way it turned out, and really last night was beyond description. I can't find words to express how I felt. It's been a long election, it's been a long eight years, and it's been very stressful. Of course, since I've written about it a lot, there was a lot of personal negativity around this election and with the people close to me. This divisiveness made me so irritated and so disappointed with so many people. So, I thought I would reflect on my beliefs, in this last election related entry, and consider what I think this election means, and what I hope for this country.

This election wasn't decided by hate, racism, or fear. People stood up and embraced a message of hope, good will, and a spirit that seems to have been lost for a very long time. I'm not just talking about the past eight years, it goes farther back than that. It felt like our country had lost our spirit, that sense that anything is possible if you work hard, or even the belief in hard work. That same spirit that possessed John F. Kennedy to challenge our nation to land a man on the moon, despite the seemingly impossible odds. The spirit that drove Franklin D. Roosevelt to take make bold decision, to say we have to try anything and everything to change the country for the better during the Great Depression. The Founding Father, Jefferson, Washington, Adams, Franklin, Monroe, Hamilton, and the numerous others who believed in the goodness in humanity, and embedded into our country the ideas of freedom, equality, the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And of course, the sense of community that holds us all together, and the sense of honor and integrity to do what is right. Like the sacrifice of our greatest generation to fight oppression and evil in Europe during the 1940s, Teddy Roosevelt efforts to reform, Lyndon Johnson's passage of civil rights laws, all those involved in the civil rights, and women's rights movements.

I feel that this spirit is being resurrected through out the country. There were so many who were involved and excited about the democratic process who had never been before, pulling away from the chains of apathy that hold us back from being better than we are. The images of the spontaneous celebrations last night from New York to Los Angeles, to Detroit, to the college campus at Eastern, looked more like New Year's Eve celebration than an election, and they give me hope that this American spirit is returning to us. The pessimism of the past must end, the feeling that mediocrity is the acceptable norm, must not continue. The ability to write off groups, or area, as never being able to be more than they are, they have no place in this world. During student teaching I have spent some time at Lincoln, and recognized this pervasive negativity that says, "well it's Lincoln" as an excuse that thing's can't be better and that failure is acceptable and expected. Things can be better, they should be better, and they must be better. This is true in every corner of this nation. America was founded on the belief that anyone has a chance, and we have proof that this is still the case in America. We must protect this American spirit of opportunity, and work to tear down the expectation of failure, and push each other, and our nation, into being everything we know they can and should be.

Negativity was so frequently in the last few days, week, months of this election, but this is over, and we must move on. Words of two America's, a real America, and everywhere else, are over. We are the great melting pot, and we must stop dividing, and unite. There is only one America, the UNITED States of America, and we all love this country, and are thankful to be able to live in such a great nation. It is far from perfect, but it is our responsibility and duty to try to make this world, this country, and our communities better when we leave this world, than it was when we received it. We may have our different opinions, but that does not make us enemies. While we all see things from different angles, we all value this nation, we are all patriots, and as Jefferson said, "We are all Republicans, we are all Federalist." We are all Americans, let us unite and move forward, ending the division, pessimism, and apathy that has fallen upon us these past years, and become that gleaming beacon of freedom and equality and the bastion of hope, opportunity and goodness in the world. This is our responsibility, this is our duty, and together no one will be able to tell us it is impossible, and for those who try, say it's too hard, unattainable, or that we can't, to them we can say, "YES WE CAN!"

Election Update Part TWO! The Electorate Strikes Back!

Well it's nearly 11:00, and things are looking pretty good, but there's still stuff being counted, so who knows.  But I'm feeling more and more optimistic!  I'm so excited I could do something that excited people do!

But there were a lot of other things on the ballot other than President, so there's other things going on!  We had a ballot measure about stem cells, which currently is looking like it will pass, but it's still too soon to call.  I'm kind of surprised because I didn't think that it would go that way, but it's looking good. It looks like they're going to legalize pot for medical purpose, which means a bunch of stoners are gonna be all "Oww, my eye hurts."

UPDATE! CNN JUST CALLED IT FOR OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    I can't contain my excitement and joy!  HOORAY!  I FINALLY VOTED FOR THE WINNER!

I kind of wish I was in Chicago right now with all the crowds at the rally... that would be amazing!

Uh!  SO EXCITING!

I voted!

Election Update!

So, I voted a little bit ago, and I was so surprised THERE WAS NO LINE!  I walked in all ready to stand in line for like an hour.  Last time I was in line for about an hour, but this time, I walked straight in and voted!  I love voting!  It's so fun!   So, now we just have to wait to see how it turns out!  Cross your fingers!!

Happy Election Day!

Finally! It's Election Day!

As many of you know, I love voting! It's like second Christmas!! And I can't wait to vote later today! I'm so freaking excited!!

So, as a quick election update, this morning I drove past five polling places, and OMG! They were lined up outside the doors! In fact, the one location, a church down the road from me (but not where I vote), was lined up around the church, out to the road, and down the street a bit! In addition, the parking was INSANE! There were cars parked along the road for a good quarter of a mile and possibly longer. Now, I've passed this church on other election days and I have NEVER seen it that busy! It's INSANE! I was totally shocked! SHOCKED I TELL YOU!!!!

I'll be voting this afternoon, and I wonder how long the lines will be! Anyhow, just thought I'd post that update!

BE SURE TO VOTE TODAY!!!

One Day More!

Ok, here's the deal. Tomorrow is election day, and all the news sites, shows, papers etc. have stories about those people who are "undecided". Now, I hate to be rude, but these people should be sterilized because clearly they don't have the mental capacity to make decisions, and sadly that's going to be a drain on our gene pool.

This election has been going for something like 20 months! TWENTY MONTHS! So, it's not like someone just asked you yesterday "hey, who do you want to vote for". These guys have been in the news, making their case for months, and are on completely opposite ends of the political spectrum. At this point, what do you need them to say in order for you to make a decision?? That they can crap gold bars? That they can cure Cancer with their tears? That they're your father, Luke?

Seriously. At this point, you're just not paying attention. Either that or you're hung up on some stupid issue like race, abortion, or gay rights. But if that's the case, then again you should be sterilized. You've had months, tomorrow's the day. You can't be undecided anymore because you are going to get NO NEW INFORMATION! Seriously, what more do you need? Because I'm not quite sure what's left to say.

Perhaps they're waiting for the last minute attack ads, like the one I saw last night linking Obama to his "radical" preacher... Or perhaps one that will air tonight saying John McCain eats babies...

So, for that 5% out there that still are "undecided" get off the fence. Or as Stephen Colbert says "Pick a side, we're at war!"

Anyhow, Happy Election Day tomorrow, and DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!!

We Do Not Approve of Excitement.

At work I tend to get loaned out to other departments that need help. This is mostly because I don’t complain about it, and I get work done pretty quickly. So it’s good. Well, recently I was asked to work on some posters promoting a company program. That’s cool, I make posters a lot, so it’s not big deal. Usually I just do whatever I want, but this time I had to use the "company style guidelines". First, I have to say I find it kind of funny that one of our “style guidelines” is to only type in lowercase (exception being proper names). This kind of goes against the rules of writing, and I just think it’s funny that a company that deals with BOOKS, insists on using incorrect writing formats.

Second, I made a bunch of posters (11 to be exact) for them to use. Out of them there were only 4 that they didn’t reject, dislike or ask for changes on. But hey, 36% approval rating means I’m still beating Bush! But one of the comments I got back was to “use restraint with exclamation points.” I wasn’t aware that I was using too many!(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) So, I went back and checked to see where I had gotten a little too excessive. Well, after searching all 11 posters, I found one that used an exclamation point in it. (!!!) And how many exlamation points did I use in that poster? Well, clearly I was excessive, so surely you’re thinking 3, maybe 4… but you would be wrong. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) It was WAY worse than that. I use ONE. (!!!) That’s right, a single exclamation point was used in that poster. Now, now. Lets show a little restraint!…

oh wait, wrong style guidelines.

now, now. lets show a little restraint. (better I'm sure.)(!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Seriously?? SERIOUSLY!(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Siriusly???!?!?

Apparently the company doesn’t approve of excitement. Are we British? "My god man, calm down will you? Show a little dignity and restraint."

I just can’t help myself!

!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I’m done now.

A Daily Dose of SUCK!

Alright, I got this day by day calendar as a gift, and I don’t see the point in throwing it away because that would just be a waste, but it TOTALLY SUCKS! I think there have been a total of 3 days that I have though that it was mildly amusing. The problem is, most of them are mean and/or mean spirited, rude, offensive, and most of all NOT FUNNY. Today’s tidbit is a picture of some buy pushing “the button” and then a second picture of the earth with two mushroom clouds coming off it and Earth has a thought bubble that says “HEE HEE! That tickles.” WHAT?! That’s not funny, it’s not clever, it’s not interesting. So WTF! The other day it was a picture of an old man and an old woman at the bathroom mirror and the guy says something like “I just wanted you to know, that every thing you do annoys me. Anyhow, I’m off to bed.” WHAT?! Again, not funny, not clever, and really just mean. I’m all for mean and rude, IF IT’S FUNNY!

This calendar sucks! But, at least it gives me the date I guess.

Much Like U of M, I'm Beat!

Michigan got beat by State.  Not that I really care, but that makes more sense when reading the title.

Yeah, I'm freaking tired.  Weekends are so not relaxing, but rather the day I have to do everything I haven't done all week because I'm too busy with school.

Becky made me get out of bed early today.  I totally wanted to sleep in longer but she was all "we're got stuff to do."  Stupid stuff to do...  So we started our day with a trip to McDonalds (I won a free value meal on the Monopoly game.  But here's a fun one, I didn't get the drink free.  Why not you ask?  Well, see breakfast value meals only come with coffee.  If you substitute anything else they charge you.  Now that's a bit of a scam if you ask me.  The other thing, it only was "value meals" which doesn't include the "big breakfast", which is my normal choice on the McDonalds breakfast menu.  Here's my question Ronald...  Why can I not get a "Big Breakfast" which consists of a biscuit, a sausage, scrambled eggs and a hash brown, but I can get the #3 which is a Sausage Biscuit with Egg.. and a hash brown?  I'm not sure if you noticed... BUT THEY'RE THE SAME THING!  Only one comes separated, and the other is in a "sandwich"  but essentially there is NO DIFFERENCE.  But hey, thanks for being difficult, it's cool, I got what I wanted anyway so it's not a big deal.  I'm just saying, think about it.

So, after breakfast (oh, BTW, they also tried to charge us for the hash brown too, but Becky noticed it and went in and was all "listen here bitches, you owe me a dollar", which is why she rules.), we headed off to the Recycle Ann Arbor store.  We were on a mission for chairs.  Wooden chairs... Deadwood City chairs.  We're working on a show (Calamity Jane) and they needed some chairs for the saloon!  Well, I must say WICKED SCORE!  We found exactly what we needed.  It was awesome.  We got 5 chairs and a stool, and using our excellent Tetris skills, got all of them in the car!  I could hear the Tetris music playing! (the link, it's really weird but funny if you play/played Tetris a lot.)

So, we got our chairs and a stool and headed up to the school for the 10:00 rehearsal.  First, the school doesn't turn on the heat on the weekends, so BALLS TO THAT!  Second, Saturday rehearsals suck man!  I should be in bed or something.  Or just eating breakfast, not having already had food, ran to two stores, scored a good deal, played car Tetris, and got to the darn thing.  But, we did our time up there, gave some notes.  Watched them run the show.  They have 26 days to go, so it's cool.

Then I headed home and decided it was time for some sitting around.  It's funny, but Tivo has become a thing on the "To Do" list.  I've got all this stuff that's built up, and I've gotta get through it!  So, we watched some Real Time with Bill Maher.  It was pretty good,  I also got a call from my sister, who I haven't talked to in quite a while.  So I ended up on the phone for about two hours.  Her husband things that the ghost of her dead grandma and/or grandpa are haunting them.  He believes in a lot of that kind of stuff... aliens... Bigfoot... alien Bigfoot...

So, finally, the last project of the day was to clean my office...  that sounds easy, except that since we got our new furniture back in May, the office has been the dumping ground.  We dumped the old couch down there, then dumped a lot of stuff on it, then dumped more stuff on that.  Then the animals decided that all the boxes and small areas was a good place to hide food.  For example, the box that had a little hole on top, yeah, Fluffy filled it with little piles of food.  Our animals are insane.

Anyhow, I'm happy to say that now, at 12:00 the office is practically perfect.  My desk still looks like a shit bomb exploded, but it's not as bad as it was, and more importantly, I can sit on the couch, and I can get to my exercise equipment that I haven't used since August when we went to Rhode Island.  I can't wait to start running again.

But for now, I'm going to bed!

Give a Hug Day! Hi-Five Day! HIT A DIRTY STINKY JEW DAY!

I heard about this story on NPR this morning while waiting to drop off Simon into the Vet, and now it's on CNN. This is some bullshit!

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/10/24/dnt.hit.jew.day.ksdk

It's strange how things just seem to come up. I was up at the High School working with my Drama kids, and while waiting for their parents to pick them up. There were some other students, staying after for I don't know what, playing foot ball in the yard a ways off. So they were playing and I heard one yell "Throw me the ball you dumb Jew." Now, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure the kid wasn't Jewish. There was a tone, and the way the kid said it, it was simmilar to the way people use the N word. I've heard that tone and tenor many times from other people that I know. That isn't a joking around kind of thing, it was far nastier in meaning.

But hey, isn't Anti-Semitism fun!! Plus it was just talk. I mean it's not like talk would ever lead to rounding up Jews... tatooing them... putting them in trains... murdering millions of men, women and children... that would never happen... except that one time... when it did...

Hey, I hear they have a museum about it. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD GO SEE IT!

There's far too much hate going around, it makes me sick.

Woof! no.. WOOF! NO! STOP IT!

This is Simon.  Simon is our older dog.  We've had him for a little over 10 years now, and so he's about 11 1/2.  Well, just like old people, old dogs get sick.  Mr. Simon decided a few days back to lick his butt raw.  We took him to the vet on Saturday and they were like "oh no, look what you did!" and they got us some spray to put on it so that it would heal up.  At the same time they also had to SHAVE HIS ASS!  They also had to shave part of his tail.  He now looks like some crazed poodle stylist went on a rampage.  But he's doing a lot better now, and that's super good news!

At the same time, we had them look at these growths that he's developed on his leg and backside.  They looked at it, did some blood work and decided they can remove them before they become problems.  So, tomorrow morning they're going to take him and do surgery to remove the two bits.  They say he's in good health, the surgery will only take about an hour, and we'll pick him up tomorrow afternoon.  So, overall things should go well, everything is external so it should be pretty simple and quick.

Here's the problem.  He's now allowed to eat after 5:00 today.  He is not pleased.  He's been standing and barking at me off and on all night!  And he won't be dissuaded!  There is nothing I can do to make him stop!  His food is gone, and he wants it NOW!  I don't think he's really hungry, he just doesn't like when his food is empty.  He's so demanding.

How Do You Make Bush Look Smart?

Stand him next to Sarah Palin.

When I first heard the news I thought "Is McCain out of his mind?"  Now, I don't have to ask, because Grandpa Simpson clearly was out of his mind because Sarah Palin makes Shubby look like Stephen freaking Hawkings.   I mean, I've seen dumb, but OMG!  It's like, do you actually read, are you aware there are rules?  We've been running the country for 232 years, so we kind of know what these people are supposed to do.

Recently Palin said that the Vice President is in charge of the Senate.  Ok, not so much.  The VP is the "president of the Senate", which means the VP gets to swear in new Senators, and gets to break tie votes.  Now, she tried to play it off as trying to explain it in a way that children would understand (since she was talking to some school kids).  I'd let that one slide, except you could easily say, I get to break tie votes AND her past performance of understanding what the VP does (remember her quote "what does a VP do anyway?"), and her general understanding of anything.  You'd think if she has foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from Alaska then she'd know the Constitution because they have it in books in Alaska.

Worse, she and John McCain were interviewed together by Brian Williams of NBC news.  So, first, does that mean she can't take an interview alone anymore?  I mean I haven't seen Barrack Obama tagging along on interviews with Joe Biden.  Second, DUMB AS A BOX OF ROCKS.  Brian Williams kind of got her on her "pals around with terrorists" comment by asking her if by that same definition wouldn't abortion clinic bombers be considered terrorists.  She tried to side step it.

What was even more fun, was when Williams asked her to define what she thought "elitist" means to her.  She had a nice simple answer "elitists are those who think they're better than other people".  Well that make sense.  That's a decent starting point definition.  Who likes those people who think they're better than everyone else.  Kind of like when people say that certain groups are "Real Americans" and how those who live in "Real America" are better than those people who live in un-American places.

Oh wait... that's what she's been saying...  hmm, I wonder if that means she has to hate herself now...  Stupid sucky elitists...

Beware The Secret Muslim!

Well, I thought that I was going to make it though, what with only 12 days left until the election. I was so close, I thought that I would be lucky enough to not have to deal with it. Well sadly my friends, today I got the Barrack Obama is a Muslim and Muslims have been terrorists. Because of that, they should be racially profiled, and we shouldn't take the risk in electing "the most liberal senator and Muslim..."

Irritating.

So, what did I do? I hit reply all. So all 25 of the people that were also on the list got a friendly e-mail correcting that stupid myth. (UPDATE: While writing this, I got a single response to my assertion that Obama is not a Muslim with a simple comment "Not now, but wait" WTF!?")

So, here's the thing. The e-mail listed all the terrible acts of terrorism that have been committed by male Muslims. Therefore every Muslim deserves to be profiled? And we shouldn't vote for one because we can't take a risk?

How about this, white males have:

-Killed every assassinated president
-Slaughtered the Native Americans
-Engaged in Slavery
-Used the Atomic Bomb on two cities (incidentally the U.S. is the only country to use nuclear weapons)

Include
-Murders Jeffrey "I love to eat people" Dahmer, Chuckie Manson, Ted Bundy
-The Oklahoma City Bomber, Timothy McVey
-1996 Olympic Bomber and Abortion Clinic Bomber, Eric Robert Rudolph
-Assisted Suicide Doctor, Jack Kevorkian
-The Unibomber, Ted Kaczynski
-Bruce Edwards Ivins, alleged connection to the 2001 Anthrax attacks on the Capitol
-Members of the KKK, who killed numerous people over the years
-Nutjob cult leaders like David Koresh, Marshall Applewhite The Heaven's Gate guy , Jim Jones (the guy with the Kool Aid where 900 died)
-The McNamara Brothers who bombed the LA Times killing 21 people in 1910

(and that's only off the top of my head)

And that's just in the U.S. We could easily count in the Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition, deaths related to colonialism through out the world, and the list goes on and on and on.

So, going by that that e-mail's line of argument, can we really take a chance voting for a white guy...

Well, Maybe You Should Have Thought Of That Before You Became Peasants

I’m currently taking a class on the history of England since 1689. As my professor says, “It’s not supposed to be light and fun, it’s supposed to be long, dull, and violent” Of course she also said perhaps she needs to add more sex and less violence since people have been skipping class. She’s quite amusing, and is British, so it’s generally a good class. To get to the point, we’ve been reading some texts from around 1700-1800 discussing the Industrial Revolution in England. English writers of the time (I’m talking pamphlet and essays not novels), are incredibly DULL. Though at times they throw in some fabulous little tidbits. For example one man was talking about how the problem with the poor is that they have too many kids that they can’t afford… as if they could run down to CVS and get some Trojans… Another said, that poor people live in dirty little shacks because they’re too lazy to save up and go without long enough to pay for something more respectable. Ahh, the logic of rich people.

Look you poor people, if you’d just go with out for a bit, you could have a nicer house, and not live in that shitty little trailer. Who needs food anyway? Oh, and don’t get me started on the blind…

It’s pretty stupid. You try telling people no birth control, and they’re only allowed to get it on if they’re planning on having children. That’d last about… nine months. But the point is that a lot of people like to sit and say “look, if you’d just stop being poor then you’d not be poor anymore!” Thanks, that’s helpful, I’ll log that away…

Seriously, I’ve had these conversations where people are like “well they’re problem is that they’re just all lazy.” Well, number one… they? Yes, every poor person is lazy. And B, what do you really know about the situation. Have you ever been to a school in downtown Detroit? Have you ever lived in an area that is truly poor? It’s easy to sit somewhere and say “oh those people just like to sit around with their thumbs up their ass..” But generally the world doesn’t work that way.

Now, as a quick defense, there are those who DO sit around and play the system, pop out kids they can’t afford when we have methods to prevent that, make TERRIBLE decisions, etc. So yes, some people are to blame for the misery that they have created for themselves. The point is SOME people are to blame for their own bad choices. However, not EVERYONE is at fault. The idea that anyone can move up in this country is a great idea. Generally I’d agree with that, however there’s one little reality that we’re missing. For some people the starting line is past the finished line, for others the starting line is in sight of the finish line, for others, they’ve got a marathon to run. And then, there are those who are on another plant from the finish line, who have not means of getting to the next planet and who, with out an act of god, will end up stuck on their planet, not even in the race.

Here’s an example that may make more sense. Let’s say the finish line is being rich, healthy and living comfortably. Some people… say Paris Hilton, was born into it, and she doesn’t need to run the race to get there. Then say, Matt Damon, who wasn’t born rich, but was able to do well and get there. Ok, that’s a great job! Then there are those, who are more common. Take me. We didn’t have a load of money. I’ve had to put myself through college etc. I’m never going to be rich, but I’ll be comfortable, and better off than my parents were. Now lets take those people who live on another planet. Say… the homeless. Or those who I saw when I did my observations in Detroit. These people have the odds stacked against them. Can they succeed? Sure, it’s possible. Is it probable? No, it’s not.

The point here is, it’s a great idea, IN THEORY, given all things are equal. The fact is, all things aren’t equal. It’s a myth that everyone has the same chance at being rich in this country. Sure, you could win the Lotto, you could hit it big in Vegas, a rich distant uncle could die leaving you his fortune. But the fact is, it’s probably not going to happen. And the ability to make it to the “finish line” is largely dependent on where you’re starting line is. The farther back the start is, the harder it will be to catch up, and the better chance that you’re going to give up. What’s the point of running if you’ll never make it to the end?

Given these facts, people need to think about their true situation when they vote, or take a stand on an issue. The greatest trick of certain politicians is to convince people that the “death tax” is bad, when in fact there are so few people that will actually ever have it impact them. Or, that a flat tax is fair, meaning everyone pays the same percent, that’s fair right? Except 18% of someone who makes $25,000 is so much more money than to someone who makes $250,000 or $2,5000,000. If I make $25,000, $4,500 is so much more meaningful than the $450,000 that someone making TWO AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS would have to pay. Oh no, they can’t afford that gold plated crapper! How will they survive…

But, people buy into this stuff. Why isn’t it fair that people who make more pay more? Where else in the world would they have the chance at being this rich? If you make 45 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR, then what do you have to cry about if you have to pay 40% in taxes. Oh no, that only leaves you with 27 million, how destitute!

People vote against their own self interest, all because they get tricked into it by stupid issues like Abortion, Illegal Immigrants, or Gay Marriage or hoodwinked by clever titles like The Death Tax or The Fair Tax. For many these people will NEVER encounter these issues, but what comes with those issues will hit them every day when they fill up their car, get their paycheck, or wonder why their school only has 30 books for 120 students. Use your brains, not your bibles when you vote. People are cutting off their nose to spite their face, and it’s stupid.

A lot of people are being Punked… only Ashton isn’t going to jump out when it’s over. And in the end we're all being tricked into fighting each other for the scraps, when really we should be eating at the table. Think about what's really going on. Look past the wedge issues, and think about what really is affecting your life. Don't get bamboozled, really think about things beyond the surface.

The [not much is] Happening

Over the weekend I had an unexpected evening with the Trixie Robertsesesese. and while we were over there we decided to watch a movie.  Well, the movie we decided to watch was The Happening, and really.... seemed kind of lame.

For those of you who have not seen it, I won't ruin the story.  However I will say I felt that the script was severely lacking.  There were pointless characters, unimportant plot points, and over all a feeling that someone was really pushing to get this movie out, with out having to worry about things like a strong story or reasons for the moviegoer to care about the characters.

I was really kind of disappointed because it really left this feeling of WTF.  It had some very disturbing images, that did really leave me kind of freaked out.  Again, I'm not going to ruin the plot/story, but some of the things that happened were really weird and gross, but the villain was kind of lame.  Overall it seems this script lacked substance and didn't really create an interesting story or well thought out plot that you've come to expect from Shyamalan's past movies.  Sixth Sense, The Village, Unbreakable, and Signs were all very strong and good stories, however this one... not so much.

Overall, I'd say wait to see this movie until it's on cable for FREE.  It had great potential, but ended up falling flat.  But hey... say hello to your mother for me.

It’s not a Tooh-MA…

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which you probably are aware of if you’ve noticed an increase of pink ribbons on things, watch shows that bring up the subject (for example South Park on Wednesday, very funny btw). So it’s good to be aware, donate, do all that good stuff, because cancer sucks, all forms.

Anyhow, I was checking my mail, and I came across this article. So, quick synopsis for those who choose not to read (OH MY GOD! IT’S 4 PAGES! READING BAD……) is that this teacher at a school in Tennessee revealed to her colleagues and students that she had breast cancer, and told everyone that the chemo wasn’t working, and she was trying some experimental treatment but that wasn’t working either and that SHE WAS GOING TO DIE! The community immediately jumped to raise funds for research, took food to her house when she was sick from the chemo. Supported her on “bad days” and encouraged her that she’d make it through that. And great news! SHE MADE IT. You know why? BECAUSE SHE WAS FAKING IT! She didn’t have cancer… her “radiation burns” were from rubbing her neck with a towel. The loss of hair from the radiation…. Yeah, she shaved her head. And, what’s more, this was the THIRD time she had faked the cancer!!! She had even duped her family!

Well, as it turns out, after she was caught for the third time, she was fired, and then hospitalized for depression. While being treated she was diagnosed as bipolar, obsessive compulsive and anxiety disorder.

So, I guess I wonder, sure all those kids and teachers might be mad at her, but she got them involved in a good cause, they donated a lot of money to it, and really raised awareness, so can people really be all that mad at her. I mean, she didn’t take any of the money for herself, and really only got the attention out of it. So it wasn’t like she was profiting. On the other hand, every time they hear about breast cancer, they may likely think of that crazy teacher who faked it. In addition, many people were very emotionally involved and hurt by this. If someone I cared about said that, and then faked it, I’d probably be pretty upset.

Anyhow, a weird story, but I thought it was an interesting article and wanted to share.

Mmmm, that smells…wait a second…

For those of you who remember back to the good old days when I had a blog on Live Journal, you may remember the strangeness I found when I first started working at my current job. It would seem that for some reason, every time I walked into the bathroom, it smelled like food. As if, someone were cooking in one of the stalls. Some days it’d be garlic bread, pizza, Rice-A-Roni, and so on. Well, this mysterious toilet cooker vanished a while back, never to be heard from again…

UNTIL NOW!That’s right, my friends, the commode culinary master has returned! And again I walked into the bathroom and though, mmm that smells… WAIT! GROSS! I’M IN A BATHROOM!

It’s just not right! Now I’m not saying I want to vomit from overwhelming poo gas when I walk in, but it’s just weird to walk in and smell delicious food! Weird, WEIRD I TELL YOU! This time it our crapper chef was cooking Italian. A delicious pasta smell, with a side of garlic bread.

Who ever is cooking in the bathroom, he should totally be on Iron Chef. Today’s secret ingredient……………………….. SEATCOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that’s enough weirdness from Corporate America…

Timmy, go play with your toys. The grown ups are having a conversation.

The last debate was held last night, the voter registration deadline has passed. We’re down to the final 19 days till this election. I’m excited, and I can’t wait to vote. Unfortunately, there are many of our fellow American’s who don’t feel they have the time to vote, or even worse “no one represents them.” For all those people who are not registered, I must respectfully ask them to SHUT THE HELL UP.

That’s right my apathetic Americans. If you’re not registered or not voting, then you get to go up and play with your toys while the grown ups talk. Democracy is not a spectator sport. If you don’t like how things are going, then you need to get your lazy ass up and vote. And if you say it doesn’t matter, well that’s because most people don’t vote. In the 1998 election according to the U.S. Census only 41.9% of those eligible voted. That means that the majority of people did not vote. Therefore, the minority of our country decided what the rest of us were going to do.

Granted, we do get higher turn out in presidential elections, but not by a whole lot. The Census reported that in 2004, 63.8% turned out; in 2000, 59.5%; 1996, 58.4%. What does this all mean? Well, anyone who can do simple math can tell you that when only 58% of the population votes, it only takes a little over half that amount to win. Simply put. If 30% of the population can make the decision. So, if you don’t like how things are going, maybe you shouldn’t let 30% of our population decide for you.

There are a lot of reasons why people don’t vote. They’re “not interested” in something that affects them daily and influences their lives. They don’t know how to register, they forget. But the one that really steams me is “My vote doesn’t count.” Let me give you an example that you all should know due to the close nature of recent elections. The election of George W. Bush was decided due to 537 votes in Florida. He won by 537 votes. Now, I’m not going to argue who would have won, that’s neither here nor there. The point is, if 538 of those Republicans had said “my vote doesn’t matter” then the outcome would have been different. Likewise, if 537 Democrats had decided their vote would matter, things would have been different. The simple truth is, every vote matters. Perhaps you’re a Democrat in a state like Texas, or a Republican in a state like Massachusetts, most likely your candidate isn’t going to win, but that doesn’t mean you don’t vote.

For those people, may I also point out that when you vote, you’re voting for more than just The President of the United States. Here in Michigan we have two proposals, one regarding the use of medical marijuana, the other stem cell research. We also vote for LOCAL officials, which decide your property tax, which influences your schools, local parks, drain commission, park commission, fees, etc. There are a lot of LOCAL elections that have nothing to do with president. You also have state government, your congressman, your governor, sheriff, board of regents at your local community college or university, and a whole host of other things that your vote CERTAINLY matters. An old friend from High School is running in my local election, I’ll be very glad to vote for him, and I’ve talked to family and friends in the area telling them to do the same. That could be the difference in a local election.

Finally, there are those who “don’t like the candidates’ or think government is bad etc. My question is, prove to me you know what you’re talking about. I think both John McCain and Barrack Obama are good men. I completely disagree with McCain, we are on opposite political spectrum's. That doesn’t make him bad, it just means we disagree. And just because I support Obama doesn’t mean I think he’s perfect. He said a few things about the education system I don’t agree with. I’m also not sold on things like NAFTA, and the bailout plan that he voted for. He may not be perfect, but when I look at my political beliefs, he’s heading in my direction. It’s far easier though to say “I don’t like them” and not vote than it is to pick up a news paper, log on the their websites, read books, and take the time to be a responsible citizen. However, democracy depends on those who get educated. It’s not just you need to vote, you need to be educated too.

For those who feel our government is some sort of evil in the world. I have to completely disagree. I trust my government far more than I trust corporations that are out to get a buck and to hell with all else. Is it perfect? Of course not, but what is? But it’s nothing like the governments in China, the Former Soviet Union, the corrupt governments run by dictators in Africa. The theocracies like Iran and the Taliban. For those lamenting that we live in an oppressive government, spend some time in North Korea, try to criticize the Chinese government, be the wrong ethnicity in Darfur. Perhaps you need a reality check of what true subjugation and oppression is. We’ve seen it in this world, it’s out there, and we are no where near that type of situation.

Government “For the people and by the people” is contingent on those people being engaged. They are not, and that’s why government doesn’t work for them. Government only functions because people drive it. It will do the bidding of those who show up. If you won’t participate, then this world will be dictated by those who do participate. It’s as simple as that. So, if you’re not voting, then you get to shut your mouth for the next 2-4 years. You didn’t let your voice speak in the election, so until the next, I don’t want to hear your whining. 2 educated voters in Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Nevada, Colorado, West Virginia, Indiana, North Dakota or Montana could tip the balance one way or the other. I look forward to November 4th, and can’t wait to vote, I’ve done it in every election, and I did it in the primary despite the fact that my vote in that case, literally, did not count. But my voice was still heard. It is our duty to be engaged and vote, and it is our responsibility to preserve our republic by getting involved. It’s not that hard to vote, so stop being a lazy ass. And if you can’t be bother, well, then go to your room, the grown ups are busy.

Eat This Cheese, It Is My Central Nervous System.

I have a strange craving for donuts and cider. I have the cider, but sadly I am lacking donuts… unfortunate.

In other news, it seem that I have, as they say, “got the shit to shoe level”. This semester is really pissing me off, but things seem to be feeling a little less “please shoot me in the face because I can’t take this anymore”, perhaps now it’s just “please shoot me in the leg so I can get out of class”. I’ve got a bunch of papers/project/tests behind me now, and did very well on most of them. (I say most because the one “project” she won’t grade till the end of the class because she doesn’t want grades to influence what later groups do… not that it matters because now groups are just going to follow the lead of the first people who went and not know what the grade is… I hate that class.)

I also finally pinned down a subject for my research paper. I hate that class too, but I’ve only got 1 more assignment, and the research paper, so it’s nearly done. That class has pissed me off to a level that no other class has. Not even the class with the irritating hippy teacher who made you read her book that was like 100 pages per chapter and you had to read 3 chapters a week and she wasn’t sure why people weren’t reading… that’s also the teacher who fell off the table… unfortunate.

I think I have 7 weeks to go…maybe 8. I’m not sure. But I think this is about the half way mark just about! Fewer days ahead than there are behind. HOORAY! I think I should go to Hawaii in celebration…. *Ponders*

They raped our friend… and we did nothing.

Alright my friends, I was quite pleased to see that South Park had returned with a fantastic season opener. It corresponded to the release of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Which came out today on DVD and Bluray). Needless to say, much like the changes to ET and Star Wars, the South Park guys were not impressed with the butchering of a classic franchise. In fact, they said that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg actually raped Indiana Jones… and of course showed this numerous times in the episode.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when it came out, or, as I call it Indiana Jones and the FRIGGIN' SPACE ALIENS!!! But with the release today I’m irritated all over again, I mean, Really?? Really????????? That's where we had to go? We follow up the Holy Grail with ALIENS!?!?! And I'm not talking the illegal sort, I'm talking the George Lucas one-trick-pony-who-hasn't-had-an-original-idea-in-years kind of aliens... Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed much of the movie. The characters were great, the interactions were wonderful.... BUT ALIENS?!!?!?!

Ok, I'll let that go.... Because I have to say WHAT WAS UP WITH ALL THE LITTLE CGI ANIMALS?!?!!? Gophers AND ALIENS?!?!?!! I think it went like this:

George: Let's do CGI Animals, it'll be cute! I always wanted to add little gophers in the original Indiana Jones, but we didn't have the technology... so it's great to be able to make the movie how I always wanted to make it

Steven: Uhh, George.... (no, no, pick your battles Steven, pick your battles). Sounds fine George, go make some cute little woodchucks or whatever..., now if you excuse me I have to take all the teeth out of Jaws and replace them with gummy bears because it’s too violent.

*George skips happily off...*

SERIOUSLY!!! Someone should put George Lucas on an a sheet of ice and push him out to sea... Quickly, before he ruins some other classic movie franchise with stupid ideas and FRIGGIN SPACE ALIENS!!!!

Can anyone say The Sound of Music 2 in 3D? Watch Maria blow those Nazi’s straight to hell as the Von Trapp Family returns to reclaim their home. You’ll love this new tale of a singing family… with GUNS and new hit songs like “So Long, Farewell, You Nazi Shithead”. That’s right, you’ll just love The Sound of Music 2: Maria’s Bloody Revenge! The hills are alive, with the sound of carnage! In theaters this July…

I hate you George Lucas…

WTF HIRO!

Seriously?!!? SERIOUSLY!? Siriusly!? I’m not sure how I feel about this season of Heroes. I still hate Mohinder, what a dumbass. And I’m not sure how I feel about what’s going on with Claire, Syler and Peter. But, DUDE! HIRO?!?! We’ll have to see where this thing goes…

The Grand Old Party of Hate?

Alright, we’ve got 3 weeks and 4 days until election day. And this is getting re-god-damn-diculous.

Ok, the economy apparently decided it really wanted to suck balls. Hey, that’s fine, I’m ok with what two grown economies do in their own bedroom. We’ve got a war going on, and you know, a second war going on that people are saying “can’t be won”. (that would be Afghanistan people, try to pay attention.) We’ve got health care that’s costing about a batrizillion dollars and will probably go up again this year. Gas is finally down to a reasonable price of $3.05 a gallon…. Right. And with that we also have, trade deficits, budget deficits, a huge debt, a 800 billion dollar bail out, run down schools, messed up roads, dirty lakes, A HUGE ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS, a genocide in Darfur, Iran trying to get the Bomb, North Korea with the bomb or at least a billion firecrackers they set off at once to make it look like a bomb, but that’s beside the point because their cracked out leader is like… dead or something, college tuition going up making it insanely difficult to pay for an education, and with all these problems, what should we be focusing on?

Bullshit. And not just any bullshit, SCARY BULLSHIT!

I had heard about this on the radio, but this article goes into it a little better. The right-wing nutjobs are getting their racist, moronic, Jesus freak, gun toting panties in a bunch because they’re guy, the war hero and honorable candidate John McCain is losing. I get it, it sucks to be the loser, I’ve been the loser since my first election and it really blows. But here’s the deal, this is getting NASTY! This is hate baiting, and I find it unconscionable to stand there and promote, and condone by your silence this type of hate. I don’t’ care how bad you’re losing, when someone yells “Terrorist” or “Kill ‘em” you need to stop and say “No, that is crossing the line of honesty and decency, and I will not condone your actions.” This happened earlier this year, and I applauded McCain for not allowing this type of hate to be spewed. But now that the odds are against him, his little “pitbull” is out there stirring it all up.

This is unacceptable. I used to like John McCain. I’m a solid liberal, so we didn’t meet eye to eye on the issues but I thought he was an honest, honorable and decent human being. Fundamentally we have a difference of opinion, which is OK! There are a lot of different opinions out there, and that’s good, but you have to be willing to say, we need to get this done, let’s work on it. This undermines all of that and is teetering on inciting violence. Where is McCain’s honor, where is the “war hero” he talks about. What kind of honorable “war hero” stands by and allows this type of bile spew from his Vice President nominee and his supporters. I guess compromising your beliefs is ok, as long as you win. The ends justify the means… only, I’m afraid that’s not acceptable.

Is this what we have become? Violent? Irrational? Hateful? Is this what the Republican party is? Homophobic, racist, bigots with guns? Slowly we’re turning the other side into a faceless “them” which leads to dehumanizing the other side into some caricature rather than real people. I’m just appalled. This leads us down a dark path my friends. Something has to change.

UPDATE
It seems that there has been some updated information.  The guy that yelled "Kill 'em" was at a Palin convention.  And McCain has started to tone down the crowds when they start to get a little over the top, as reported in this article.  But it still seems to me a bit of talking out of both sides of their mouth.  Palin gets them all worked up then McCain says "now now, he's not the boogie man."  Anyhow, it's nice that there is a slight change in course on this issue, but the crowds are still going too far.  And that's still scary.

Who the f are these guys?? What's all these, please?

What is it with people needing 250 friends on their Facebook?? Maybe I’m some kind of freak or something, but I’ve got like 30. I could easily have more, but I tend to not put anyone on my friends list unless we’re ACTUALLY FRIENDS! At the very least I need to have some sort of interaction with you!

So, sometimes when I get a little friend request I’m like “oh, who could this be??” I think it’s great when an old friend you’ve lost touch with happens to find you, that’s good times! But then I click it and I’m like WTF!? Seriously?? SEEEERIOUSLY!? Siriusly?? I’ve had people I don’t know, or I’ve people who I know of through somebody else and they’re like “Lets be facebook friends” and I’m all like DELETED! Or better people who I went to high school with like 10 years ago and haven’t talked to since then, and really didn’t talk to while I was there and they’re all “FACEBOOK FRIENDS! WEE!” And I’m all “WTF!? DELETED!” I’m not sure why it irritates me, but it does. If we weren’t ever friends why would I want to add you to my facebook? So you can have 250 friends that you don’t even know? Is it some popularity thing that makes you feel good that when people log on to facebook they’re like “wow, you’re so popular with your 400 friends! I wish I were like you!” ‘cuz, f that man, f that in the a.

I don’t get it, but maybe it’s just me…

What Master Debaters….

Last night was the second of three “debates” though really it’s not a debate, it’s a safe little talking point live press conference. This “debate” was in a town hall style meeting aimed at “undecided”. Seriously? There are undecideds?? Ohhh, yeah, I know these people. They’re the ones that stand in line at McDonalds staring at the picture menu trying to decide what to order, then get up to the cashier and say “uhhhhhhhhh, I’ll have theeeeeeeeeeeeee number, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh………” DUDE! Your choice is Horseburger, Horseburger with Cheese, Chicken Lip Sandwich/nugget or the McFishleftovers on a bun! How is that hard!?? It’s not like McDonald’s has really changed the menu all that much in the last TWENTY FREAKING YEARS… but for you, you fence sitting, don’t-know-what-I-want-at-Mcdonalds, we have debate number two, with only four weeks till the election.

I watched the debate, I always watch the debates. I’m of course quite decided, and have been for a very long time. But it’s important to watch these kinds of things. As I’m watching it, I start to think that McCain seems to believe he’s on Last Comic Standing or something. WTF with all the “joke” that btw, weren’t funny. “ahh hahahahah, you said you weren’t going to make Tom your Treasury Secretary! Oh that witty John McCain! What a riot! It was kind of painful really. It reminds me of when they try to get old people to be “hip” and talk to “youngsters”… FAIL! SIDENOTE! Whatup with those teeth?? He looks like the freaking old man from Aladdin, you know, Jafar in disguise when he sends Aladdin down the Cave of Wonders to get the lamp, only to leave him there to die, but later finding out the monkey took the lamp allowing Aladdin to use it to trick the Genie to get them out of the cave and get the girl in the end….I’m just saying, if I had that much money, I’d get a better dentist, cuz… Gross.

Anyhow, a lot of these things feel a bit forced and unnatural. Politicians are always saying “the American people are smarter than that” about this or that. I would argue that one, they aren’t smarter than that, they’re actually much stupider than that. This is mostly because they have ADD and if it’s not something new and shiny they get bored. Prime example... SARAH PALIN! If the American pepole were "smarter than that" then they'd say... dude...this is THE BEST you could come up with??? And two, if they were smarter than that, they wouldn’t need you to act like “one of us” in order for us to vote for you. Here’s the thing, if I’m “smarter than that” then I should be able to go, yeah, this guy can’t talk “like me” or whatever, neither can my grandma, but that doesn’t mean I won’t vote for them. I don’t’ need to see my politicians making asses of themselves while trying to appear “connected” to me by using “hip, cool lingo” ZOMG, WFT! LOL! Anyone, who says ZOMG! WTF, shouldn’t have their finger anywhere near THE BUTTON! Otherwise it’d go something like this… “WTF! F That, man! F that in the A! I’m bombing Switzerland! ZOMG! J/K Hey, Germany A/S/L??? Is that really what we want? I don’t think so…

But hey… Germany… a/s/l?? *wink* Mavericky!

Some Monday Morning Fun!

There was also a debate bit on SNL over the weekend! Tina Fey is great! It's all so Maverickey!!

Well Golly! I wanna be VP!

I just watched the debate, and thought I'd throw a few thoughts out there.

I wish that Sen. Biden had actually hit back a few times such as the "white flag" comment, but I understand why he didn't.

Second, Sarah Palin is a FRIGGIN MORON!

Issue one: The VP is part of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH!  Contrary to what Dick Cheney may try to make people believe, it is not now, nor has ever been part of the Legislative branch.  Read Article II of the Constitution.  So, WTF is with her saying that she's glad the Constitution provided extra power for the VP... extra power for what?   How?  Has she read the Constitution?  Does she know what a Constitution is.... can she read???  I don't think so.

Issue two:  It's not cute to avoid questions and say "I'm not going to answer the way you want".  Here's the deal, we are watching to understand what you think on issues, and you don't get to tell us only what you want to tell us.  An answer of "pass" is unacceptable.   You're getting questions and you have to answer them even if you're dumb as a rock and don't know anything other than the party line.  I don't like the idea of being proud of not answering questions... Isn't that what this Administration does... not answer questions?

Issue three:  Pretty much I thought this was a bad breadstick.  You know the type, looks like a breadstick but when you bite into it it's just air pockets with no real substance.  She just kind of repeated herself over and over.  She wasn't the train wreck I thought I'd see, much to my disappointment, but she still had no real meat to what she was talking about.

Overall Impression:  Sarah Palin is a dumbass.  Also I wish debates were like they used to... you know, when people just talked to each other and didn't get these canned lame ass answers.

That's it, I'm going to bed.

Jesus’s Favorite Pet? A T-Rex…

I bet you’d assume it was a Stegosaurus, but you’d be wrong. This comes from a real coloring book on religion, the picture shows that this is from page 8 of the book, I'd REALLY love to see the other pages to get an idea of what other wonderful tidbits of fun come with it. Click the picture so you can read the caption, it's fabulous!

Also, I put up links to this INSANITY! I don't support any of the ideas in these links and feel the people should be locked away because clearly they are unbalanced, insane and/or mentally handicapped. But I had to add the links so you know what the hell I'm talking about!

I’ve seen a lot of crazy, I mean members of my family are on the City Council of Crazytown, so I’ve been exposed to a lot of insane ideas. To give you an idea here are a few things that people in my family/people I know believe:

- The U.S. government blew up the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
- The cure to any injury is Neosporin.
- The Secret. Google it NOW if you don't know!
- Barrack Obama is going to enslave white people .
- We need more DNA evidence for Tornados .
- There were no dinosaurs, the bones were put there BY THE DEVIL!
- There were no dinosaurs, those bones belong to DRAGONS!

I wish I could say I was making this up, but sadly YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS SHIT UP! Well, I think my idea of crazy has been elevated to a new level due to the Creation Museum located in Kentucky. This “museum” is built on the belief that first, the bible is literal, and second science is wrong. Incidentally, two of my most highly held beliefs…. That is if I were COMPLETELY STUPID!

I heard about this museum while listening to an interview with Bill Maher on NPR for his movie “Religulous” which opens this week at a theater near you! Normally I’d just write this off as another religious nutjob theme park and ignore it. The only problem is one tiny little detail caught my attention. What detail is that??? Well, people of the belief that the earth was created 4-7 thousand years ago have one tiny little snag… DINOSAURS! Now above you’ll see that people I know believe they’re some sort of practical joke made by Satan, or dragons…. Dragons…. Right. So, I have heard some real stupid things. But what does this “museum” say about dinosaurs? Well, clearly if the earth is only 7,000 years old, then dinosaurs and humans had to coexist. (You can read all about it below, it’s so scientific and without a doubt proof!) Not only did dinosaurs coexist, but people used them as well! WITH SADDLES! That’s right my friends, this “museum” has a dino model of a Stegosaurus with a saddle on it!

I guess when Jesus wanted to get to Jerusalem in a hurry he just got in his trusty STEGOSAURUS and rode there.

I found this MSNBC article on the subject published a year before the “museum” opened. I can’t believe they’ve raised SO MUCH MONEY, that tells me there are a lot of REALLY STUPID PEOPLE in the world. Another thing, the final comment is a guy saying "Americans just aren’t gullible enough to believe that they came from a fish." But apparently they will believe that people rode on dinosaurs like friggin horses... I also like how all the “evidence” is carvings that resemble a dinosaur, especially given that these cultures believed in 500 gods and drew people with 6 arms etc. Also, they refute science which is PROVABLE, and think things like Carbon Dating is just wrong based on….. the fact that they say so. Apparently the Bible also says that Noah put a T-Rex on the ark, and that Adam and Eve played with the Dinosaurs…. But I don’t remember that passage so if someone can find it for me I’d love to hear it. I knew people were stupid, but this just brings on a whole new level of stupid that I didn’t even know existed…

Below are some wonderful links to some of the “evidence”. I can’t wait to tell my history class about the Roman Raptor Division… ahh the good old days!

Oh no, he's dead...

I haven't blogged in quite a while, I started off doing one a day and then I let that slip, and it was every few days, and now it's been over a week.... it's a slippery slope my friends!!!  Stay in school...

Really there's been a few things that I've though "I shall have to write about that later!" but then I forget and never bother to do it.  I've also been in a bad mood for about 10 days now, so I didn't feel like writing anything under the bad mood cloud.  So, I'll just do a quick recap of what's going on.

Issue 1:
Just because you like the "wild west" doesn't mean everyone does!  I have this STUPID class on "how to write history"  as in, I'm a historian and this is how I must write articles.  Basically it teaches you how to be dry, boring and get your readers to fall asleep.  Perhaps they should rename this class "Anti-Insomnia 101".  In this class i have to write an extensive research paper, and it must be focused on the American Western Movement.  I find this period to be dull and boring.  I don't know why, but I really just don't care about anything from this period.  Cowboys... so what.  Outlaws... ok, whatever  Gold Rush.... greedy bastards.  Really from the American Revolution till the early 1900s I think America sucks.  Oh sure, the civil war... a bunch of rednecks fighting over slavery while saying it's not about slavery....  All I'm saying is that certain periods in history talk to me... the 1800s... they don't talk to me.

Issue 2:
Stop being proud that you're racist and are hiding it under a veil of "they both suck".  No, I'm sorry, if you're a Democrat, and you're not voting and all you can say is "they both suck" then you're most likely saying "I won't vote for a black guy".  I'm getting sick of hearing DIE HARD DEMOCRATS who aren't going to vote.  Why?  Obama is liberal, he hasn't done anything to offend the Democratic base.  And, I'm sorry but you're living in a deluded world if you believe whatever lame ass story you've made up in your head, and tried to comfort your guilty conscious by saying "well no matter who wins it's gotta get better".  NO, NO IT DOESN'T, and that's clearly visible in one example SARAH PALIN!  I'm not saying anyone is about to drop dead, but HOMEBOY IS OLD!  She's as dumb as a rock...  Things can get worse so get off your racist ass and vote for the guy who does support your values that you're not voting for because he's black.  ASS.  And stop being proud that you don't vote. UGH!  I'm just going to start carrying a stick and hitting people when they say stupid stuff... i better get more than one stick, I'm sure it'll wear out fast.

Issue 3
The Economy.  Ok, does anyone shop on Main Street anymore?  NO!  They shop at Walmart.  So the new morons have to stop saying "We need to help Wall Street, to protect Main Street".  These assholes haven't even been to a "main street" in ages.  How do I know this?  THEY THINK PEOPLE SHOP ON MAIN STREET!!  Yes, I understand it's a phrase meaning small businesses, but it's just a load of horse shit.  The economy is a mess because people do stupid stuff, and then want to fix it by doing stupid stuff.  I imagine something has to be done, but I'm not convinced by what Bushy McScrewup has said (can we say boy that cried wolf?) and I think the idea that is has to happen tomorrow or the Chinese are repossessing Iowa (which is the urgency that seems to be going around) is just a bunch of BS.  Plus, take Iowa, if fucking sucks, I've been there.

Issue 4
EMU HAS TO STOP TAKING MY MONEY IF THEY CAN'T GIVE ME A PARKING SPACE.  I pay a lot of tuition, the least they can do is make it so I don't have to walk a mile to class because there's nowhere to park on campus.  Here's an idea BUILD UP not out.  If I have to pay $75 a semester for a parking pass, then you need to provide me a PARKING SPOT!  Otherwise what am I paying for??

Issue 5
I don't have an issue 5, but I don't like even numbers, so that's the end of it.

I will blog again soon, plus we have the VP debate tomorrow, so surely my head will explode a bit after watching it.

Good night, Gracie
