Goal number one was to paint the "water closet" in our master bath. It was pretty gross in there, and really could have used a new paint job. We got this goal complete when we repainted the entire bathroom. It looks very nice now, so SUCCESS!
Goal number two was to paint the coat and game closet. Also finished this one when we painted the upstairs closet. Since I had the paint out, it just made sense to paint it at the same time. So again, SUCCESS!
Goal number three was to catch up on my back issues of Time and Newsweek. I was SUPER behind in reading these, so I had a lot to get done. I was able to catch up on Newsweek, but I'm already behind by two issues again. As for Time, I was not able to catch up. So, this goal was only partly finished. Perhaps I needed to have a more specific goal for how much I was planning to read each day.
Goal four was to file my piles of files. I had a lot of back mail that needed to be filed just sitting on my desk. I was able to get all my files organized with nice new folders for each month, etc. So, I'll have to say SUCCESS! Though, I then pulled out all my teaching documents, which need to be sorted and filed. But, that wasn't part of the original goal, so I'm still calling this success.
Goal five was to spend at least 30 minutes a day on my treadmill. This was really going to be a tough one because I'm usually really busy. By the end of the day I can't really seem to talk myself into getting on the treadmill. Well, apparently the solution to this is to do it first thing in the morning. So, some days this meant that I had to get up at 5:00 am to be sure to get the 30 minutes in. With the goal of 30 minutes a day, I should have run about 930 minutes over the month (which is 15 and a half hours). As of today (with 35 minutes) I spent 1,600 minutes on the treadmill (which is over 26 hours!). HOLY CRAP! So, we're going to say SUPER SUCCESS!!! Though, I think my treadmill is not long for this world, it's having some serious troubles. *SUPER SAD FACE*
Goals six was to upload my next video project. However, as I posted earlier, this goal had to be abandoned due to the loss of my connector between the VCR and the computer. Until I get a new converter I'm not able to do anything.
Finally, goal seven was to start a new book. This one was a complete fail. I did not get to reading a new book, but I spent all my reading time catching up with my magazines, which I did make a decent dent in. I'll make a more specific goal for next month.
There you have it! January is over and I had four finished goals, one goal on hold, one goal half finished, and one goal I did not meet. We'll have to make some good goals for February.
So long January 2011! You were a busy month, but now we look ahead to February!
