Really, I’m Not Obsessed With Dogs

Well, first and update. Simon has taken to sleeping on his pet bed instead of trying to have sexytime with it. So, that’s good. In fact he’s really become attached to it and I found him sleeping… well not, sitting on it staring at me grumpily when I got home last night from delivering cookies to our friends.

I didn’t think much of his angry stare and thought he was just being weird, but I was too happy that he was using the pillow and I hadn’t wasted my money to think about why he was in grumpy old man mode. Well, I soon found out when I went upstairs… and found a Chocolate Lab puppy.

Now, I know what you’re thinking… “OMG! They already have 2 dogs and a 3 cats and an angry bird!” It’s not our puppy! It’s my sister’s Christmas present. See, my sister’s dog had a tragic accident on Saturday or Sunday and long story short, it was severely injured and had to be put to sleep. (sad face) It’s very unfortunate, and I feel bad. So, my mom decided to get her a puppy for Christmas/her birthday (even though her Birthday is in July, and she’ll probably still get her gifts just like she already bought her a couch for Christmas, but still bought her gifts, and then decided to get her a puppy….but whatever.)

So, yes, we have a cute little Chocolate Lab puppy running around the house, and Simon is sitting on his pillow wearing his cranky pants and if he could talk he’d probably be yelling, “YOU KIDS STAY OFF MY LAWN!” But that’s not a surprise, he’s gotten very grumpy in his old age and as they say “Doesn’t suffer fools gladly.” So, this is the type of behavior that I expected. What I didn’t expect is for Sam to be SO NASTY to the puppy!

Sam, well he’s dumb as a rock… and that’s an insult to the rocks. But he’s never had problems with other animals, and he’s always been friendly! Well, not to Miss Puppy! No-No! He is not a fan! There is snarling and growling whenever the puppy gets near him. This worries me, because Simon is no spring chicken, and someday we’d like to get a puppy when he’s no longer with us (which will be a sad, sad day), but we can’t have good natured Sammy going all Cujo on us!

Anyhow, I promise the next post will have nothing to do with dogs!

It's A Pillow, Not A Sex Toy!

We made a little impulse purchase last night and got our dog Simon a pet bed. He likes to sleep on our couch, and we don't like when he sleeps on our couch (he sheds so much you'd expect him to be bald!), so we though we'll get him one of those nice big pillows for him to sleep on and then he'll have his own little place that isn't our couch! Plus he's old and cranky, so we thought it'd be nice to have something fluffy and soft to sleep on.

Good plan, right?

Well, he seemed pretty excited about his new bet, and rubbed his head all over it and licked it and thought it was the bee knees.... until he started thinking about the birds and the bees, and proceeded to hump the pillow.

Actually he just tried to hump the pillow, not much success with his pillow/sex toy. Then, did he sleep on it?? NO! He slept next to it... like a little pillow wife to sleep next to and try and hump. Awww. Sad.

Hopefully we'll get him to sleep ON it eventually... once he figures out it's a pillow... for sleeping on.... not with... giggity, giggity. alllllright.

Marley and Me

Becky and I got passes from work to a special early screening of Marley and Me which comes out on Christmas. It's a movie about the world's worst dog. The movie is based on a book with the same title.

So, the movie is about this newspaper reporter, his wife, and the dog that they got as newly weds. The dog of course is out of control and a real handful. It's not one of those plot driven movies where something is happening that's out of the ordinary, it's really just a story about a family and their dog.

It was a really cute movie! A lot of funny stuff that reminded me of my dog(s). I really enjoyed it, though there were a lot of people crying at the end. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for something to see! But be ready for a sad, but predictable ending. It almost got me, and I'm not a person who cries at movies, and it was really hard to get out of there without crying. So, if you have a chance to see it, it's a nice story and makes you happy, makes you laugh and made me want to go home and pet my dog!

Break for Bacon

For those of you who don't know, a long time ago a friend's mom accidentally called Becky and I Bacon (Becky - Jason Bacon... see how that could happen?) Anyhow, the name stuck, so for almost 10 years now we've been known as Bacon.

I just wanted the title to make sense.

As for the break part? I'm on break from school! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thus ends the worst semester of my life. I HATED THIS SEMESTER! It sucked more than that time when I got shot in the face and while trying to reattach it they accidentally STABBED ME IN THE EYE WITH MY FACE! woah, that was weird.

Anyhow, the semester sucked but now it's over and grades are starting to trickle in. So far, A- and A, so my GPA is still steady, I expect another A and then fucked if I know about the other class that I had to write the 20 page paper for. I'm hoping for an A-, I think it'd be too much to wish for an A, but who knows, perhaps there's a Christmas miracle out there for poor Jason? Pretty please with Santa on top???? As long as it doesn't pull my GPA down, I've got it within 0.05 of where I want it, SOOO CLOSE!

Anyhow! That's why I've been mostly absent since Thanksgiving, I've been chained to a computer, but in a bad way!

In other news, we're supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow... therefore the stores are packed and everyone is buying gas.... stupid. IT'S INCHES NOT FEET! Anyhow, tomorrow morning could be fun!!! I think work should have snow days too...

Hi-o Silver! AWAY!

I was reading my daily Lunch News on CNN when I found and article leading me to this blog! It's really interesting. This guy has 4 horses and a wagon (RV style) that he made and he's just riding across the country at about 20 miles a day. He left New Hampshire in July, and just now got to Indiana! It's really pretty cool. I'll be interested to see how far he makes it. He also takes pictures that he posts in his blogs. It's pretty neat!
